Do not knock the door twice - afraid to be afraid?

This is the second film following Caradog W James's recent success, Do not Knock Twice this time focusing on a horror story inspired by a child. The legendary monster, haunting and pursuing two main characters is a mother and is in the process of reconnecting with her daughter after more than 10 years of sending her children to the orphanage.

This central relationship, more specifically, is the troublesome mother Jess (played by Katee) tries her best to mend a relationship with her stubborn daughter, Chloe (Lucy Boynton). The cause of the story is that Chloe goes with her friend, to the abandoned building near the orphanage, and for some reason teases the ghost in the house by knocking twice.

The first thing to say is the shortcomings of Do not Knock 2 Times that is the lack of originality. There is no significant creativity here. Like a bundle of sub-genres of horror, nothing is too familiar but nothing new. "Technology" scare the audience so boring to say they can not threaten the hard fans of the horror film because they can go ahead the film in two or three steps. Mirrors, ghosts through the glass, lightning effects and off, haunted house, old witch, a bit of ghosts Japan and even Skype - horror is too boring. I can name the gomovies the extreme correspond to the above elements: Mirror (2008); Paranormal Activities (Series), The Witch (2015), The Grudge, Hush (2016). For fans of horror, watch Do not Twist twice as a tour review of the good of the gomovies ever seen to see how I mixed them like.

The logic of the film is very problematic. At the place where the viewer wonders if the ghost is the one or not. Two characters seem to go together but not one. And before the ghost appeared, the old woman often came crying and then told the victim: "run away"? This reason is difficult to describe properly, because the old woman is not a ghost. If you are a good character, why live in a ghost house when the policeman (supposedly the perpetrator) knocks on the door, the ghost does not go after killing him. If you were a ghost after death (seems more reasonable, because she committed suicide after being harassed and determined to knock the door), tell the victim to run away for what? The legendary ghost and the old woman are so creepy and horrible, but the lack of connection makes the viewer laugh and think ... forget how to always fear. Simply do not understand, it is difficult to be afraid.

The ending is suspended and short, slightly lacking obsession with a horror film. I do not add, you come to see, then like me to say three words: WT F ...

You feel bad? Yes, I'm impatient, but I'm tired of it. Fair rating, the film has the highlights are noticeable.

First, to overcome the lackluster look of style borrowing, it must be said that boredom does not mean not to be afraid. It's still scary under the combination of close-up frames and strangled sound, the light effects have excellent timing options. Ignoring the memory of an experienced Thriller and Horror filmmaker, like me, to compare borrowings with previous footage, viewers can easily get caught up in the stuffy feel of the scene. Chloe's friend was arrested after calling Skype, in the magical space of the bunks' home with light and a closed door frame, in dead silent statues in a church. Choosing the angle is very smart, and the characters are as good as the scene makes it feel good, locking the emotions firmly in each segment.

The second point, quite clearly, is an attempt to bring something new to the director. Pay attention to the normal life of mother and child between the nights. There is no ghost, demons roar, but the noise comes from the sound of the fox, the noise of wind and leaves rustling. This creates a very good effect. It is sometimes the pure world itself with its natural noises how scary when people encounter a psychological phobia.

I will give a little more praise on the depth of the story. At the beginning of the film, we see Chloe as a main character with an impulsive and destructive personality, but gradually we realize that it was only the consequence of the mother who abandoned her. The film portrays Jess's demise when she has to quit her children while she is addicted, then goes through hard times to recover both physically and mentally, and then takes courage to meet her son. I even suffered Chloe's estrangement. Deep down, when the evil forces wanted to take Chloe away from me, the mother stood up to protect me with all I had, with affectionate attachment, shy but extremely powerful and decisive. Jess was not the mother who cares and congenital congenital. Jess struggled to learn how to be a good mother, through lessons. Katee's acting, I encourage you to see for yourself, it touches my emotions as I look into her eyes at her sleeping child next to me waking up from a demonic dream the morning.

In conclusion, it is clear that after the success of The Conjuring 2, the horror films can not escape the shadows of old materials. Although there is a little bit of innovation, as well as the actors with the indescribable acting, can not conquer the audience again, to hear the "fear" instead of "horrible" "Like the general atmosphere that I felt after leaving the theater.
